I had an interesting conversation with my family the other day where I was debating making a major purchase and they kept reminding me “you only live once.” They were implying I should “go for it”, “have fun” and “take the risk”. But what does this saying really mean? While I agree “you only live once”, to me, as a senior, I believe this means that I should think wisely and not mess up. Preparing for retirement is not a time to throw caution to the wind, nor to take risks that we can’t correct in our remaining lifetime. It is about enjoying ourselves and often times that means removing risk from the table. Call us if you feel the same way and wonder what you can do to add income that you can’t outlive to your retirement years, all the while providing you with the ability to “have fun” in that you know your income will continue even when the markets go down. We’re always here to help. We look forward to hearing from you.
